PERSONAL.
Mr. Maurice Ralph arrived from the south by the Limited express-this morning. Captain R. S. Lewis was a passenger for Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Major-General Sir Andrew Russell arrived from Hastings yesterday to attend the dawn service at the Cenotaph to-morrow. Mr. W. H. Gummer and Mr. C. R. Ford will be passengers for Wellington by the Limited express this evening on their way to Christchurch. Air. W. E. Sill, secretary of'the Auckland Abattoir Assistants' and Freezing Works Employees' Union, returned from the south by the Limited express this morning.
Paymaster Captain N. T. P. Cooper, who arrived on Thursday to take up the position of secretary of the New Zealand Naval Board, left for Wellington laet evening.
Archbishop O'Shea, Catholic Metropolitan of New Zealand, who is on hie way back to the Dominion after visiting Europe, is expected to reach Auckland on May 28.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. W. Craven, M.C.. reserve of officers, Royal Army (Territorial) Medical Corps, has been appointed to the New Zealand Medical Corps and transferred to the reserve of officers, northern district.
