OBITUARY.
MR. MARK MOON.
AGED NINETY-TWO YEARS. For more than 40 years, Mr. Mark Moon, whose death has occurred in Auckland, was formerly on the staff of the Brett Printing and Publishing Company, Limited, in Auckland. He retired on {tension twelve years ago. Mr. Moon, who was a brother-in-law of the late Sir Henry Brett, was born in "Westfield, England, 92 years ago. He came to Auckland in the sailing ship Northumberland in IHB4 and two months after his arrival joined the "Auckland Star" stair as a machine supervisor. It was under his direction that the printing presses were transported from Wyndham Street to the present Shortlaud Street block. It is interesting to recall that the ship Northumberland was wrecked in Hawke Bay, Napier roadstead, in 1887, and parts of her are still visible to-dav on Petane beach.
Mr. Moon was a member o,f the Auckland Bowling Club. As late as last year Jie took part in the Veterans' Fours "aines. He was a prominent Methodist and a member of the Alexandra Street Church, which is now known as Airedale Street. Mrs. Moon died in 1931 and Mr. Moon is survived by two sons, Messrs. George and Charles Moon, and three daughters, Misses Edith, Martha and Charlotte Moon.
