KNOCKED DOWN BY CYCLE. HEARING MUCH AFFECTED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SYDNEY, April 13. Mr. A. B. Piddington, K.C., who became the centre of many stormy arguments when Mr. Lang ' appointed him sole industrial commissioner about nine years ago, and who is one of the bestknown legal, figures in the State, at th< age of 76 appeared in the Supreme Court this week claiming damages foi injuries received when he wae knockec down by a motor cycle and sidecar ir April last year. Among his witneeeewere Sir George Ftich, who is a judg< of the High Court and a member of tl.< Judicial Committee of the Privy Coun cil. and a former Comniouwealtl Solicitor-General, Sir Robert Garraa. His counsel, Mr. Ctive Evatt, K.G, who recently won the Huretville ceat for the Heffron Labour party, argued that Mr. Piddington'a hearing had been affected'to such an extent that it would make it very difficult for him to continue hie practice at the Bar. The hearing of .the case is still going on.
