LEWIS FOR LONDON
Will Meet Harvey In May A PRESS Association cable- ** cram from London states that John Henry Uwit (holder) and Len Harvey will fight for the world cruiser-weight boxing title in London sometime in May. When they battled for the same tide at Wembley on November 9, 1936, Lewis (who had beaten Bob Olin for it in U.S.A. in 1935) outpointed Harvey in fifteen rounds. The Englishman holds both the British and Empire heavy-weight championships, as well as the British cruiser-weight, which he won back from Jock McAvoy at Harringay on April 7 last year. When Lewis aspired to world heavy-weight honours he was technically knocked out by Joe Louis in one round at New York on January 25 of this year.
