THE CURRENT ISSUE.
The week's is6uo of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly," which is on sale to-day, contains the names of winners of £50 cash prizes in the Summer Snapshot Competition and. tho principal prize-winning photographs. This contest again proved that New Zealanders are indeed camera-minded, thousands of entries having been received from all parts of the country.
Nest of intereet in the competition line is "Hats on the Stars," the current conteet for which cash prizes totalling £25 have been allocates. This is a test of skill, brains and taste, and one for which any reader in the Dominion (except employees of the company) can enter without entry fee. Tim week there is published the fourth film star and hat in the series of 10. Then there ia the limerick conteet —with cash prizes —which ie also popular with the public.
In the fiction 6ection are two complete short stories and a generous instalment of the serial story, now at a most interesting stage. Chief among the articles is one which telle of Europe's happiest country and conditions under which its peoples live. The housewife will, find of interest the page on the arrangement of the living room, and the usual page of hints. The first instalment of the life etory of Mickey Rooney is to bo found on the film pages. This week there are given recipes for the making of cheese dishes.
Of general interest ie the page of photographs of the first debutantes of the season. Fashions in hate are portrayed in pictorial form, and there is a short article on points to remember in good grooming. Directions are given for the making of a knitted suit with a bolero embroidered in lazy-daisy pattern. In the free pattern section there are eight designs to choose from this week. *
