OTAHUHU ATHLETIC CLUB
FIFTH ANNUAL FUNCTION.
The fifth annual "At Home" of the Otahuhu Amateur Athletic Club, held in the Otahuhu Public Hall last evening, was a pronounced success. Representatives from nearly all of the city clubs were present,
The display of trophiee won by members came in for much favourable comment, and when the Mayor, Mr. C. R. Petrie, M.P., was making the presentations, he warmly congratulated the club officials upon the good work they were doing in improving the physique of the youth of the district. Misses D. Mullins, M. Mears and K. Mears, and Mr. W. Goosman were presented with club blazers for winning the provincial and Dominion titles. Miss L. Grindrod, who had in a previous season been presented with a blazer, was awarded a rose bowl to mark the winning of a Dominion title.
The success of las-t evening's function was a fitting climax to the excellent work of the ladies' and the men's com mittees, the members of the former being Mesdames J. Mtillins, C. R. Turner, C. S. Jones, Chas. Jones, W. E. Mears, C. Robson, F. Harrison, F. P. Arnold, H. R. Trevena, C. Pyc and R. Ellis. The members of the men's committee were Messrs. J. Clark (president), R. C. Turner (secretary), F. P. Arnold, E. Horan, C. Clark, C. Pye, C. Robson, H. R. Trevena, C. Jones, C. S. Jones, H. M. Williamson, J. Porteous and L. Podmore. Mr. Carl Robson. assisted by Mesere. E. M. Horan and F. P. Arnold, was master of ceremonies, and extras were played by Mrs. E. G. McPherson and Mr. A. Cottcrall.
