MR. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN.
I feel compelled to write in support of your correspondent "A Birmingham Woman" and to assure her that fully 95 per cent of the people of New Zealand will agree with her} the remaining 5 per cent can he classed as proverbial armchair critics with their blinkers on, and, coupled with their laziness and hypocrisy, they cannot see any good in other*. We all know what the great Chamberlain family has done for the Empire, and especially for 3Jo» Zealand, and Mr. Xeville Chamberlain has accomplished a great deal more and raised the prestige of the Empire by his noble and unselfish acts, for which the whole world owes him a deep debt of gratitude. It is a great pity that unnecessary discussions of our great Imperialists should be forced upon us at the present time, especially as we are 13,000 mile* away from the seat of all the real difficulties; it would be far better if every one of us put our shoulders to the wheel and attended to our obvious duties at this outpost of OUT \ great Empire.
