The meeting wae one of the most euccessful ever staged by the association, ■winch is to foe congratulated on the efficiency with which the fields were marshalled and dispatched. On a particularly fast track the times throughout were excellent, and not only were four records broken, tout more were equalled. The records were made by R. P. Towle, a King's College junior, who reeled off 440 yai'ds in hie heat "in 565; R. E. Moore, of the same college, who covered the 120 yards senior hurdles in 15 l-5s in his heat and 15 2-5s in the final; R. H. Whitefield (Mount Albert), who did oft 2in in the junior Ihigh jump; and the Auckland Grammar intermediate relay team, which clocked 1.45 for the 880 yards relay. An outstanding competitor was D. P. Lambert (Seddon Memorial Technical College), who won the 440 yards intermediate event in hollow style, to equal the record of J, H. R. Btuwsey (Auckland Grammar) in 1937, of 54 2-sb. When the field straightened up Lambert, running gracefully and with an even stride, was prancing well out in front, ana he was riot troubled at the finish of his recordequalling run. Lambert also took the decision in the 220 yards event, in which he again equalled the record, his time .being 23 4-ss, and completed the treble by annexing the 880 yards in time just outside the record.
