Features of the final day of the Australian Jockey Club's autumn meeting at Randwick yesterday were the- victories _of the Xew Zealand horses Defaulter and. Malagigi. Good fields provided excellent racing, and the- track was in good order in spite of. overnight rain. Defaulter was responsible for a ibrilliant performance in leading practically throughout in the A.J.C. Plate, two miles and a quarter, and winning from such worthy opponents as Spear Chief, Allunga and Mosaic. Defaulter received a great ovation. Malagigi registered another good effort when he enatched a smart victory in the Final Handicap, after ibeing badly pocketed at the home turn. Ajax had no difficulty in accounting for his five opponents in the C. W. Cropper Plate. The win brought his winnings up to £31,100. The attendance was 33,000, compared with 31,000 laet year. Defaulter took tie lead from Mosaic and Allunga at the four-furlong post the first time round and opened up a gap of three lengths, which he held for over a mile Mosaic and Spear iShief came at Defaulter nearing the home turn, but the New Zealand colt finished full of running to win amid great cheering by two lengths from hpear Chief and Mosaic, who dead-heated tor second. Allunga was five lensths away fourth. Time 3.58 J.

FINAL HANDICAP of £750. One mile and a quarter.
