PROVINCIAL FINALS.
MORRINSVILLE WIN CUP. FONT RACE RESULTS. i (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent-) HAMILTON, this day. Finals of the Auckland provincial polo tournament were played to-day at Claudelands in fine weather. In a hard game Morrinsville B (handicap 15 goals) had a clear cut victory over Matangi B (handicap 9 goals) by 17 goals to 12. Matangi B was somewhat handicapped by lack of ponies. Morrinsville now become the holders of the handicap cup for the first time. It was last competed for in 1937, Glen Murray winning. For Matangi goals were scored by Bryant, Townsend and Raustead, while goals for the victors were scored by Scott and A. Elliott. The cup was presented after the match by Mr. J. M. Allen. M.P. Two races for polo ponies on the trotting course as follows: — Polo Pony Scurry, two furlongs.— Broughton's Kcretuhunga. 10.10 (A. Haskell), 1; G. Spence'£ Libra. 12.6 (owner), 2: W. Suckling's Stardust. J 1.11 (owner). 3. Also started: K. Peake's Lady Archer, O. Lindberg's Wlnstrom.
