DUTCH FEARS.
Business Affairs Transferred To England.
AIR SERVICE DOUBLED. (Received 11 a.m.) , LONDON, April 14. As a result of international uncertainties, Dutch business men are seeking to transfer their affairs to England. The rush is so great that the air service has been doubled.
London stock markets are weaker and business slight. The Amsterdam Bourse is very weak. Leading securities were down 5 to 10 per cent.
SPANISH TROOPS.
MOVEMENT TO GIBRALTAR.
(Received 10.30 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, April 14,
It is explained in Spanish quarters that the continued arrival of troops at La Linca, which caused alarm in Gibraltar, is due to Nationalist demobilisation. In addition to road barricades, it is understood boom defences will be placed at the Admiralty Harbour in the week-end.
TRENCH DIGGING.
MARSEILLES PRECAUTIONS
MARSEILLES, April 14.
Trenches and shelters are being dug in Marseilles and the distribution of gas masks is ibeing commenced. Plane for the evacuation of the population are being prepared.
Anti-German demonstrations are reported to have occurred at St. Malo and Biarritz.
GERMAN ARMY CHIEF.
WELCOMED TO ITALY.
(Received 1 pn>-) LONDON, April 14. .Signor Mussolini, Count Ciano, the Italian Foreign Minister, and Fascist party heads welcomed Field-Marshal Goering, German Air Minister, to Rome. Field-Marshal Goering will interview King Victor Emmanuel, Signor Mussolini and Count Ciano to-morrow. He will return to Berlin on Monday.
Dr. Goebbcls, German Propaganda Minister, has returned by air from Istanbul, via Belgrade.
