DIVIDEND MAINTAINED. MAKES 10 PER CRXT FOR YEAR.
A final dividend of 1/ a share, making 10 per cent for the year, is recommended hy the directors of the Bank of New Zealand. In addition it has been decided to pay a bonus o; ~Vi per cent to the staff.
The chairman of directors of the bank, Mr. A. T. Donnelly, has been re-elected for the ensuinc year. The annual meeting rif b-harolioliler.s is usually held early in June in Wellington.

The dividend rate has been maintained at, 10 per cent since 1034. lu 1033 the rate was 11% per cent, and in 1032 and in the previous five years it was 14 1-3 per cent. The total dividend distributed will be the same as last year, £574,218 15/. made up as follows: Ordinary shares, £375,000: D mortgage shares 17% per cent), £35,158 5,'; A preference shares, £50,000; C mortgage slutres. £14,002 10/; B preference shares, £ IOO.Of/J. The Government receives the distribution on the three last issues-, or a total amount of £161,062 10/. Tn the financial year ended March 31, 1935. the net profit of tihe bank was £553,209. asainst £600,008 in the previous year. Salaries for the 1937-3S year were shown in the balance-sheet at £503,987, so that on this figure the staff 'bonus will absorb approximately £12,300. ; i. COMPANIES REGISTERED.
