Heavy killings of beef and mill ton reunited in serious congestion at all the works from Kaiti in the south lo Moerewa in the Far North, and at West Held, where the biggest proportion of meat for export is killed, work has been curtailed for some time. Although plenty of fat stock has been available for me.it exporters, buyers operating on their behalf have been forced lo reduce their scale of activities, farmers have suffered in consequence, being forei.. lo sell stock on the local market where prices have been depressed owing to heavysupplies. Largo shipments from Auckland in the past week have begun to relieve the situalion, however, and at present several boate arc loading meat. Altogether thirteen ships will be lifting meat from Auckland this month, and exporters say that they -will be able to "'see daylight again" in a few weeks.
