NEW COMPETITION SERIES. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Gratification at the improved standard of Soccer in the Dominion last season was expressed by delegates at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association in Wellington to-night. The work of the retiring council was coni'mended and all were re-elected with the exception of Mr. W. G. Bryce, who was replaced by Mr. J. Dick. Mr. J. A remit from Wellington that a North v. South " Island - match be inaugurated met with general support and was passed, subject to the New Zealand Council being able to make satisfactory financial arrangements. Wellington's second remit, "That the rules of the Football Association Trophy be amended to provide that the competition be conducted along the lines of the Plunkefc Shield competition in cricket, i.e., that each of the four major centres play the other three centres once during the season, points to be awarded for each game." was also passed, provided satisfactory financial arrangements could be made. It was decided that the replacement rule be the same as last year, under which replacements may be made up to and including half-time.
