DELAY AT MINE.
DISPUTE OVER PAYMENT.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WADZI, Friday. The majority of the contractors working on day shift at the Martha mine decided not to go underground this morning, because the payment of their earnings was not made to-day when wages were being paid.
The management informed them that the payment would be made on Saturday, owing to the delay caused by the Easter holidays intervening and the extra time occupied in making out individual amounts under the new conditions brought about by the Social Security Act.
