NAMES.
It was with pleasure I read "Tattler's" write : up concerning surnames. At times I. too, look into the meaning of names. I consider the Michael Joseph Savage nomenclature would be very hard to surpass. Our Prime Minister ie to be congratulated. It is extraordinary. Here it is:—Michael means "who'is like God"; Joseph means "in place of Jehovah"; Savage is derived from the Latin Silvaticue, and means a eylvan glade or wooden glen. With such a. nomenclature, how could Mr. Savage be anything else bnt what he is, a friend of the people.
