R. Orr Walker. 8.M., ordered them to return to the country an dtheir jobs. Both men pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing an electric iron valued at £1 belonging to Miriam Violet Hurst. Senior Sergeant Cahvell sMd A constable accosted the two men in Renniem lit 9.40 yesterday morning and found that one.of them was carrying a white paper parcel. On being opened it was found to contain an electric iron. Asked where he got it, the accused replied that "an old sheila gave it to me." Five minutes before the men were accosted ft Complaint Was received by the police from a woman in Upland Road. The electric iron was found to have been stolen from the washhouse. "These men showed signs of having been drinking methylated spirits," added Mr. Calwell. "We've got the best job we ever had and only came to town for the holiday*," said Cunningham in asking for another chance, "We don't want either pf you in the city," (lie magistrate told'the two in the dock.
