RED CROSS ACTIVITIES.
In reply to "Takapuna,*' the agreement mentioned by Sir Heaton Rhodes is, not of recent date, but was concluded in July. 1935. The agreement provides that while the Order of St. John may lecture to the general public, the Xi'w Zealand Red Cro*s Society confines its instruction to members of the society. In other words, it is nece.-s.iry to become a. member of Red Cross before enrolment in instructional classes. Several hundred members are now receiving instruction in first aid. home nursing, air raid precaution* and kindred subjects. Training in jbc-c subjects i- progressive and can lie continued for several years in order to qualify for the various awards. "Takapuna" need not fear; the clashes will continue. If '•Takapuna*' bad made inquiries in the right quarter the de-ired information could have been obtained. I feel sure '•Takapuna" will find the instruction both interesting and helpful. A. A.
