RUGBY LEAGUE.

JUNIOR MANAGEMENT. I INJURED PLATERS' FUND. Last evening at the Auckland Rugby League junior management meeting the chairman. Mr. D. Wilkie. welcomed the new members. Messrs. G. Mclntosh and T. Carey, the latter being succeeded by, Mr. E. Carey, the latter being successor to Mr. E. M. Gibson as minute secretary.

Maintaining that in siring the proceeds of the forthcoming Sydney club matches to the injured players' fund that the A.RJ/. was giving away something that belonged to nil. units of the game, the chairman urged that junior clubs should participate in the fund, although they mistakenly had rejected the opportunity last year. It was reported that the senior clubs' officers' association was opposed to junior participation, but Mr. Wilkie was authorised to act further in the matter.

It was decided to adhere to the constitution regarding the production of birth certificates of players in the age grades— fifth, sixth and seventh—as suggested by the annual meeting. An addition to th« transfer rule was discussed and approved. It was resolved to continue the present policy with regard to players protested against on weight.

Discussing grade positions, the committee favoured the retention of the senior reserve grade according to the constitution, but strongly advocated all senior dubs being compelled to Held junior teams.

Schools' Committee. At the annual meeting of the schoojs' committee of the Auckland Rugby League, the president, Mr. R. E. Newport, congratulated the management on thV progress that had been made since the inauguration of schoolboy competition, capped by a record season last year.

Officers were elected ns follow: —Patron, Pγ. M. G. Pezaro; president. Mr. R. E. Newport : chairman of committee. Mr. A. Stanley: secretary. Mr. L. Rout: selectors, senior, Mr. S. Dickey; intermediate, Mr V. Rose.

It was decided that, where possible, all grades will be zoned, and April 27 was tentatively fixed for opening day of the season.

WIGAN'S VISIT TO AUSTRALIA.

LONDON, March 14. The English Rugby League Council has approved of the Wigan team touring Australia during the coming season.

The suggestion that the Wigan team should tour Australia was originally ma de by Mr. H. tsunderland, a former manager of Aimtralan touring teams, and at present manager of the Wigan Club.
