LONDON, March 6.
A Madrid message states that General Mia,]a, on his arrival at Madrid, said that order prevailed in the Republican zone. The' people were very satisfied at the formation ot the Defence Council.
Senor Barrio, Speaker of the Cortes (Parliament), who is in Paris, said'•General Miaja is the man who can agree with General Franco and restore peace to Spain. ' The new Defence Council is in complete agreement with the desire to end the war."
Renter's Madrid correspondent says the balance of portents point to orderly surrender. J
It is officially announced in Madrid that tlie Negrin Government has resided. Five members are collaborating with the Defence Council, which the Air Force is supporting: unconditionally.
Dr. Kegrin and Senor del * Vayo arrived at Toulouse by air.
The Navy Ministry at Paris announces that the Republican Fleet was ordered to Bizerta, in Tunis, to be decommissioned. The crews landed and the fleet returned to Algiers in the afternoon but was unable to shelter. It- was expected at Bizerta early to-day.
The Defence Council is reported to be making reprisals against Communists, several hundred of whom were arrested. A wireless from Oran reports that 12 Republicans, including Delores Irraburi (La Pasionaria) arrived by 'plane.

MOVES OF LOYALIST FLEET.

Several sources report that the Spanish Republican Fleet of a dozen vessels is going eastward along the Algerian coast. It is assumed to be making for a neutral port.
