CONTROL IN AUCKLAND.

The annual report of the Auckland Kugby League, to be presented to the annual meeting to-morrow evening, states that the Junior Control Board, under the «£. nl 5 n ?5" h , ip of Mr - D Wilkie, with Mr. W. F. Clarke as secretary, has again functioned with a high degree of efficiency and co-ordination. That the past season was an unqualified success is shown by the number of teams playing and the high class of football plaved. Fifty-five teams took part and the number of registered players was 1123. The weighted grades comprised 1067 of this number. Another feature of the League's activities was the work of the ladies' social committee. During the season the ladies paid over 200 visits to the sick and needy. Many a player has expressed bis thanks for their generosity and kindness. The ladies also managed the social functions of the Control Board.

Two years ago, the report continue*, the club delegates formed the Amalgamated Senior Clubs' Officers' Association and in every way the results have proved satisfactory. One matter that the association took a hand in was the establishment of i a fund to assist injured players.
