THE CONTROL BOARD.

• PLAYERS IX TRAINING.
At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby Leapue Control Board last evening, the chairman, Mr. G. G. Campbell, said he had attended the annual meetings of most of the clubs and he found that considerable enthusiasm existed for the approaching season. Many players were in training. The secretary. Mr. Ivan Culpan, reported having advised the clubs regarding regular training facilities. The chairman stated that the roll, of honour to veterans who had given 25 years of service to the game would be unveiled at the annual meeting next week. The New Zealand Rugby League advised that.its annual meeting- would be held on March 30. Mr. Campbell and the sitting delegate. Mr. R. Doble. were appointed to represent the A.R.L. Advising that two managers would be appointed -for the NewZealand team to England the council advised that nominations, to close on April 18, -were being 'invited from all affiliated centres. It had also been decided that this year the following selection system would operate—three selectors for each, the North and South Islands, and three selectors for "the selection of the New Zealand team, one representing each islanjl and the third, to be chairman, to represent the council. Nominations for selectors are to close on March 29.
New player applications included two from Rotorua and that of J. E. Airey, tlie Canterbury representative hooker, who will play for City Rovers.
