EASTERN SUBURBS. BOARD CONFIRMS VISIT. INJURED PLAYERS' BENEFIT. i The Auckland Rugby League Control Board last evening, with Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, officially received and approved the visit of Eastern Suburbs, of Sydney, augmented by Balmain players, at Easter. The visitors will be captained by Ray atehr, the international forward. 1 he Amalgamated Senior Clubs' Officers' Association suggested that the curtainraiser attraction on Easter Saturday Miould be a seven-a-side tournament—two teams from each club, one section playing °-, 2 n F ound and the w 'nuers to play I oft at half-time. For the Monday the suggestion was a burlesque ladies' match, an inter-club relay race (to be open to Australian players) and Richmond and Ponsonby "»dzet teams playing at half-time. 1 lie chairman said the suggestions troin the clubs were splendid. Mr. F. T. -lcAneny, chairman of the Officers' Assoelation said the matter had been considered very thoroughly, taking into consideration the position of teams so earlv m the season. "We are very pleased that Eastern Suburbs are coming,"' added Mr. Campbell, and the fact that the proceeds of the matches are to be devoted to the injured players' fund should help to make the series of matches a great attraction." It was decided to notify the clubs that Carlaw I ark would be available for regular training after next Saturday and to engage a coach to attend the park to conduct free physical culture and loosening exercises for players from 7.30 p.m to 8 P.m. to-night week and the following J uesciay and Thursday evening.
