MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. BIG ATTENDANCE AT ANNUAL MEETING. The King George Hall at Mount Albert was filled on Monday evening for the eleventh annual meeting of the Mount Albert Rugby League Club. The president, Mr. A. C. Gallagher, presided and associated with him was the patron, Mr.Mr. H. A. Anderson (Mayor of Mount Albert). Among those present were the chairman of the A.R.L. Board of Control, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, and the secretary, Mr. Ivan Culpan, Mr. Anderson, in congratulating the club on its progress, said it filled a longfelt want in the district and he was proud to be identified with it. Mr. Campbell referred to the Importance of the approaching season, which would start with the visit of a Sydney club side and would include a >Jew Zealand tour to England and France. The report stated that teams were entered Jn the senior, senior reserve, third, fourth and fifth grades of the Auckland competitions, while senior and seven-a-side teams took part in the schools' competition. Outstanding, was the achievement of the fifth grade side, which was the first junior team of the club to win a champion-, ship. It. was beaten in only one match. J. Mens* of the third grade, won Mr. J. F. W. Dickson's medal for the mbst sportsmanlike player in the grade. I. Garrett was awarded the Patron's Cup for the best club schoolboy, C. . Allen, of the reserve grade, sifon the Vice-Patron's Cup as best club member, and the President's Trophy for best non-playing member went to A. Jenkinson, coach of the fourth grade and schoolboys. Every member of the senior pack gained representative honours, J. Guiining, H. Shadbolt. and B. Leatherbafrow for Auckland, M. Hansen and J. Tristram for the . Maori team. D. Herring also, toured with the New Zealand side to Australia, as also did C. McNlel, these players being congratulated, together with Masters Sumich and Davidson, who won schoolboy honours. The reserve grade tied in the championship with Richmond and finished runnerslip as Fhe result of the play-off. The grade had proved a valuable nursery for the top team. The reserves also -tripped to Whangarel. C. Ronton won H. Cotterall's trophy for most improved player. Trophies. given by Mr. Huxford for best forward and for services rendered were presented to C. Callinan and C. List, respectively, and P. List was awarded Mr. Roble's trophy for most consistent forward. C. List won the C. Elwin Memorial Cup for the annual 100 yards championship and b. •' Cranch won the goal-kicking honours. s Reference was made to the reciprocal visits of the third grade arid Portland (North Auckland) teams, and , the fourth grade team was commended for. its fine showing as a first-year thirteen. | For the third year in succession the club.'s i schoolboy sevon-a-Sidp was runner-up for the coveted Bennet Cup.
