SANCTION REQUIRED.
WAITEMATA POWER LOAN
Information that arrangements were being made to place before the Local Government Loans Board the Waitemata Electric Power Board's request for authority to raise the final instalment of £50.000 of the reticulation extension loan was received from the Loans Board at yesterday's meeting of the Power Board.
The State Advances Corporation, replying to an inquiry as to the possibility of the corporation subscribing for £25.000 on account of the loan, wrote that it was not possible to consider the matter until the sanction of the Local Government Loan* Board had been obtained to the raising of this portion. Furthermore, even when this step had been taken, it might not be possible to deal with the application immediately as the corporation had a large number of applications on hand requiring consideration.
Both communicatione were received without comment.
