TROTTING.
May I commend the action of the Auckland Trotting Club in refunding the money invested on Don Walla, who was withdrawn after going out to the start of the race? Enthusiastic racegoers will recollect the Prince of Orange incident at Ellerslie some rears hack when the horse was withdrawn in very similar fashion, but no investments were refunded and - the club did absolutely nothing to console the unfortunate investors.* Any sport-loving body . believes in a run for your "money, and, in my Opinion, conservative Ellerslie does not come tinder that,*heading. I hope the governing body at Ellerslie noted the substantial increase in the "tote" at the trots. In conclusion, may I again commend the Trotting Club for its very sportsmanlike attitude and the excellent programme I witnessed on Saturday? H. MACGREGOR.
