Mr. H. J. Kelliher returned f.-mn isew Plymouth by air yesterday afternoon.
Mr. W. B. Deltlow, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, returned from Wellington by the Limited express this morning.
Sir William Gowers, formerly Governor of the Protectorate of Uganda. head of the Crown Agents' Department, Colonial Office, is a round trip passenger from London in the Stratlieden.
Mr. George Mills, chairman of the Auckland Division of the New Zealand National party, who has been attending a caucus of the party in Wellington, returned by the early express this morning.
The Hon. J. E. Duncan, the Hon. E. Dye. the Hon. B. C. Robins and the Hon. T. F. O'Byrnc, members of the Legislative Council, were passengers as far as Frankton by the Limited express from Wellington this morning.
Messrs. A. S. Licliards, F. W. Schramm, W. J. Lyon, C. R. Petrie and F. L. Frost, members of Parliament, who have been attending a caucus of the Labour party in Wellington, were passengers for Auckland "by train this morning. Major-General J. E. Duigan. Chief of the General Staff, arrived from Wellington by the early express this morning to be present at the combined Army, Navy and Air Force manoeuvres which began at North Head at noon to-day and are to continue for 24 hours. The Ven. Archdeacon H. A. Skclton. of 'St. Albans Anglican Cathedral, England. who was formerly curate at St. Mary's Cathedral, Auckland, has been appointed Suffragan Bishop of Bedford in the Diocese of St. Albans. Graduating M.A. from Oxford University, he was ordained as a deacon in 1910, and as a priest two years later. For some six years he was chaplain to the late Earl of Rosebery, one-time Foreign Secretary and Liberal Prime Minister of Britain.
Commander R. Griffiths Bowen. R.A.N., retired, of Sydney, who arrived in the Stratlieden on a brief holiday visit to the Dominion, yesterday afternoon visited the Auckland headquarters of the St. John Ambulance Association. He is an officer of the Order of St. John. In a notation on the visitors' book Commander Bowen said that lie was deeply impressed with the organisation and administration of the ambulance service. "Having made inquiries and inspections in Great Britain, Holland, Germany and Malta, I feel it my duty and pleasure to congratulate the officebearers and staff in Auckland," he wrote.
