LANCASHIRE SOCIETY.
LADIES' NIGHT. ' A successful social was held in the Arts Hall, Kitchener Street, on Wednesday night, when the ladies of .the committee were in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Cook was hostess and Mrs. J. Gates was. the: chairman. Mrs. Gaughah and' Mrs, Dawson were the M.C.'s; w ; - " Vocal items by Mrs. Tlatt, elocutionary items by Mrs. Davcy and tap dancing by Miss Irene Long were appreciated. Lucky number winners were Mrs. Green, Mis. Birch, Mr. J. Jones and Mr. Millar. The winners of the Monte Carlo were Mrs: R. Cook and Mrs. Mcas, and the competition was won by Mrs. Harvey and Mr. White. The prizes were donated by the ladies of the committee, Mrs. Brassvngton, Mr. Mayall and Mr. Jenkins. - '
