RISE. IN BONDS. SALE OF 4 PER CENTS AT PAR. MARKET GENERALLY rfRMER. Interest centred in Government securities a* the morning call on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day. A r»'se of £l.in 4 percent 1943-46 bonds ,brought the price up to par, while 52-55 stock sold jt an advance of 10/. . After these two sales there were no further sellers on the market and all issues had a strong inquiry from buyers.' . In the banking section Xew Zealn:iiis continued their firming trend, closing between £1 IS/9 and £1 19/3, but E., S. and A.'s looked slightly easier between £5 and £5 7/6. South British Insurances were also lower, with buyers at £2 3/3 and sellers asking 1/3 more. Australian industrials were firm, offers for British Tobacco rising to £2 9/ and for Jlount Lyells. to £1 6/6. Quotations for Mount Morgans advanced sharply to buyers 11/6 and sellers 12/3. The outstanding feature am> ig local industrials was a further improvement in Kaiapoi Woollens," which were quoted from 11/6 to 12/8. Wilsons Cements had a better inquiry at 15/9. Steady at Noon. There were few notable changes at the noon call. Buyers for Bank of Xew Zealand advanced a penny to 3S/10, while those for South British dropped back to 43/. Pukemiios bad fresh business at 16/6, with a later market 16/3 to . 16/9. There was a better tone in Ans : tralian industrials. Sellers of British Tobaccos raised their reserves to 50/ for the ordinaries and to 33/3 for the preferences. Weakness in Xc\r Zealand'miscellaneous issues was confirmed in a sale of- Milne and Choyco preferences, which at 21/6, were 9d down.
