LINER'S FIRST VISIT.

Making her first call to the Dominion, the new 24,000-ton P. and 0. liner Stratheden. the seventh cruise ehip to visit New Zealand from Australia this ; eeaeon, will arrive at Auckland from Brisbane to-morrow afternoon, berthing about 1.30. The liner carriee 973 passengers. 843 of whom are tourists from Australia, the remainder being passengers landing in New Zealand or making a round voyage with the ehip. For the tourists the usual programme of hae been arranged and parties will leave to-morrow afternoon for inland resorts. On Saturday more than 200 will travel by special train to Rotorua, leaving Auckland at 7.40 a.m. Another special train will leave at 9 a.m. the same day for Kotorua, taking a further 100, who will rejoin the liner at Wellington after visiting the Chateau Tongariro. The Stratheden will leave Auckland for Wellington and Sydney at 11 p.m. on Saturday. The ship will be open; for public inspection on Saturday afternoon, the proceeds going to charity. '
