Italy Resumes Commercial
Relations.
HOPES FOR TRADE INCREAFE.
ROME, February 8.
A treaty between Italy and Russia has been signed renewing their commercial relations, which had been at a standstill since 1936. It is hoped that trade will total £10,000,000 a year. The total value of Italy's foreign trade decreased 12 per cent in 1938. The figures were: Imports £121,000,000, compared with £151,000,000 in 1937; exports £88,000,000, compared with £87,000,000. BLACK SEA REGION. SECURITY PACT SUGGESTED. (Received 11 a.m.) BUCHAREST, February 8. It is understood that the Soviet has suggested a security pact between Rumania, Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece to preserve their status in the Black ; Sea region.
