N.Z. CREDIT CAPACITY.
All Signs Of Accumulative Strain Seen. LONDON COMMENT. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, February 7. "The Times" City editor, commenting on the New Zealand Reserve Bank's statistical summary showing the deterioration of the bank's position since 1930, especially in 1938, says that it shows all the signs of accumulative strain upon the credit capacity of the Dominion. He adds: "Exchange control alone will not solve the fundamental economic equilibrium, although it may provide a breathing space for remedial measures."
