WORLDS SMALL POPULATION.

From the earliest times men seem to have been struggling for certain parts of the earth in which to live. Those who live in poor parts want to obtain richer and more fertile lands, or they want regions which contain valuable minerals like coal, iron ore, manganese and gold. One would think that the earth should provide more than enough room for all the people. There are 55,000,000 square miles of land in the , world and fewer than 2,000,000,000 people, so that if the latter spread out there would be only 30 people to every square mile. There is an amazing fact. The Isle of Wight is a very small piece of land, as you will see if you look at a globe or a map. Yet everybody now living, about 2,000,000,000 people, could stand at the same moment on that little island. Tho area of the Isle of Wight is 94,14") acres, or 4,100,050,200 square feet, so that there would be an average of two square feet for every man, woman or child. Little children would need lese and this would give more room for big men.
