EXCEEDED fflS TIME. V. CAPPER'S HARD LUCK. NORTH SHORE SWIMMING • CARNIVAL. Main event* at the North Shore Swimming. Club's carnival in the Tepid Baths laet night wae the relay contest for the Tommy Lowe Memorial Shield. Three clube—Mount Eden, North Shore and Ponsonby—took part, each team comprieing 20 swimmers, the distance being 666 2-3 yards. North Shore led for about hall the distance and was then eupplanted by Mount Eden, who won by 11 yards. The I'oneonby and North Shore laet men had a keen battle for second place, l'onsonby won by only a foot. A number of swimmer* exceeded their asseeeed times and one of them was V. Capper, who won hie heat and the linal of the 100 yds handicap. This left £. . Woods the winner, with N. Crump second. P. Haiiaii, who qualified, did not contest the final. SCRATCH RACES.
