Mr. C. R. Petrie, M.P., will leave for Wellington by this evening's Limited express. Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P., will be a passenger for Wellington by the Limited express ;this evening. Mr. E. L. Rtrtledge arrived in Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Mr. F. Maurice Clarke, accompanied by Mrs. Clarke, who has been on a brief holiday visit to Australia, returned to Wellington in the Awatea yesterday. Major R. G. Byron, military secretary to the Governor-General, Lord Galway, left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. Frank Goldberg, who arrived from Sydney in the Mariposa, will leave for Wellington by • this evening's Limited express. The Rev. Harold Sharp, minister of Mount Albert Methodist Church, and Prince Jione, of Tonga, left by train
yesterday for Palmers ton North and ■ i Wellington. Mr. W. B. Darlow, chairman of the 1 Auckland Harbour Board, and Mr. D. Holderness, superintendent and engineer, will be passengers for Wellington by the Limited express this evening. The Rev. H. Salmon, vicar of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, left for Sydney, en route to England, by the Aorangi. During his absence the Rev. K. Smajl, lately of the Waikato Diocese, will be in charge of the parish. Wing-Commander H. W. L. Saunders, who is to succeed Group Captain the Hon. R. A! Cochrane as Chief of the Air Staff, is a passenger from London in the Mataroa, which is due at Auckland on February 54. He is accompanied by his wife and their two sons. Captain T. ,T. Watts, secretary and advisory superintendent of the United Fine Brigades' Association, will leave for Wanganui by train this evening to complete arrangements for the conference of the association, and the fire brigades',] demonstration, which are to be held there next month. Mr. A. J. Moody, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board. Dr. J. W. Craven, medical superintendent, and Mr. C. L. Grange, secretary, will leave for New Plymouth by express this evening on their way to attend the biennial conference of the New Zealand Hospitals' Association which opens there this evening. Other members, Dr. Hilda Nortlicroft, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver and Mr. 1 W. A. Bishop, will leave by air to-mor-row morning.
