MILK COUNCIL.
ELECTION IN FORTNIGHT. NOMINATIONS CLOSED TO-DAY. Nominations for the six vacant seats on the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council closed with the secretary, Mr. X. R. Chapman, nt noon to-day. Actually there are nine seats on the council. but three are reserved for the representatives of the City Council, which elects its nitrmbers on the day of the poll. The six candidate*! elected when the poll is held on February 21 will represent the local bodies, the milk vendors and the dairymen. Two nominations only were received from the dairymen, who forwarded the names of the sitting members, Messrs. C. J. Lovegrove and R. H. Ockleston. These candidates have therefore been declared elected. The local bodies have nominated Messrs. T. H. Geraghty, I. J. Goldstine and H. F. W. Meikle.
Hve names have been forwarded for the two vendors'- seatt*. Those nominated are Messrs. C. Freer, James Haslam, I. Maseey, R. B. Stonex and A. Thompson.
