Centennial Golf Tourneys A PRESS Association message from Wellington states that the council of the New Zealand Golf Association, at a meeting to-day, decided to offer £2000 in prise money at three open golf tournaments to be held in the Dominion this year in connection with the centennial celebrations. It was decided that the pri*e money should go exclusively to the six leading professionals in each of the three open tournsments. Any amateurs who happen to gain place# will receive trophies. The first tournament will be held at Auckland toward the end of October, the second in Christchurch immediately afterward, and the third on the Miramar links. Wellington, about the middle of November, when the New Zealand open amateur championships will be decided. This liberal allocation of pr«e money is expected to induce many overseas professionals to visit New Zealand this year.
