PURCHASE BY F. BMITH. WELL-KXOWN PROPERTY. Glenora Park, formerly the training ground of the well-known trainers F. Davis and J. T. Jamieson, has been sold to F. Smith, the well-known galloping trainer, who is to take over his new quarters next month. Glenora Park has been utilised of late by the trotting trainers, C. H. Goodall and S. Matthews. The property consists of over 50 acres, and possesses two tracks of both dire and grass, and is a mile in circumference, these tracks having served F. Davis for some years, and, afterwards, was purchased by J. T. Jamieson. who trained his horses privately, until the present training track was formed on an adjoining property, when he transferred his horses on to this track. On Jamieson's decision to reside permanently in Sydney, the property was let to the well-known trotting trainer, F. J. Smith, who in turn made use >f same for a couple of years before establishing himself in another property in the district. Following Smith, the property was leased to Mr. C. W. Hill, who allowed the track to be used by the trotting trainers desiring accommodation in this respect. Many good horaes have been sheltered in these grounds, dating back to the days when Glenora Park was owned by Mr. Walters, who raced and bred many good horses, and had afco the sire Soult standing at the stud. F. Smith, who now is the owner, will be transferring his team, comprising Anion, Arvakur, Proud Fox, Gladynev, Round Up, Valamito, Orelio, Full Hand, Hey Lu and the recent arrival, Oriental Bay, who arrived on Monday. Although possessing a track of his cwn, it is not Smith's intention to leave the Takanini track, where the horses are being prepared at present, as the properties are adjoining, and there will be little inconvenience Jn working the horses as usual.
