HOBSON WHARF IN USB. . LARGE COASTER ALONGSIDE. Acuto berthage shortage at Auckland wharves has caused the Harbour Hoard authorities some concern during the week-end. To-day 1»> overseas ships, aggregating over 104.000 tons gross, were either at anchor in the stream or berthed. at the wharves. The Mat son liner Mariposa, which arrived from Sydney on schedule, had to be berthed at the Western wharf. She was the Jirst regular overseas vessel to use the wharf, although cruise ships and tankers have previously used berths there. For the first time the new Hobson wharf was used to-day for large coastal vessels. Ihe Margaret W., which arrived from 1 lie Kant Coast, was alongside, and the Kopara, also from the Mast Coast, will berth there oil arrival. Two overseas -hijis, the steamer Maimoa and the motor ship Port St. John were at anchor in the stream, and they were joined this afternoon bv the steamer City of Glasgow, from Halifax. Dominion Monarch, the new Shaw Suvill and Albion quadruple screw motor liner, is scheduled to leave London on February IS) for- Wellington, via South Africa and Australia. 'I'llvessel is expected to arrive at the Southern port on -March i2"> and at Auckland on April 1. Captain A\. Ji. Hartinan, formerly of the .Mataroa, is in command. Navigator, an auxiliary schooner yacht, is expected to make port to-mor-row from American Samoa. She is on the lavt stage of a voyage which began I nun San J'edro early last month. An American party is on board, and it is intended to fish in northern waters. Captain F. K. Klebimgat is in command. Oronsay sailed for Wellington and Sydney shortly before 1 a.in. yesterday. She is on a cruise and is expected to leave the Southern port at midnight to-night.
