CONCERN PELT.
POOR DENTAL HEALTH. TEETH OF NEW ZEAL ANDERS. The general excellence of their teeth is often a distinguishing characteristic of the American people. This is one reason "why Dr. David J. Jones, head physician for the City of Chicago, who is a passenger in the Mariposa, hae been so forcibly struck by the poor dental health of many of the New Zealanders he has met. Dr. Jones to-dav expressed surprise and concern at the number of people about the age of 35 whom he had seen wearing false teeth, and at the number of younger people whose teeth were in a poor state. "You've got to start early to take care of the teeth of your people," he said. "In. Chicago we begin to look after the children in this "way the first year they enter school." Told that the establishment of school dental clinics was now being: pushed ahead in New Zealand. Dr. Jones expressed complete approval. Young people were a whole lot healthier -in many other respects if they had good teeth, he said.
