Two offences committed by a blacksmith in December earned him a prison sentence to-day when he apjieared in the Police Court before Air J S Morling. S.M.
Ihe accused, JaniM Leslie Guv, was charged that at Wellington on December 3, lie stole £3 belonging to Phvllis Irene Taylor .and that on December 31. he obtained from Percy Carlyle £4 5/ by falsely representing that he had money in th» Poet Office Savings Bank and two travellers' cheques for £10 each. He pleaded guilty. Asked if he had anything to say, Guy told the magistrate he had been verv foolwh, but he would repay the moneV he had obtained.
'iour conduct was worse than that," said the magistrate, who sentenced GuV to two weeks' imprisonment on each charge, the terms tt> be concurrent.
