The executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate to-day placed on record its regret at the. loss of the services of Mr. T. U. Wells, who since 1937 has been a representative" elected to the Senate by the - General Court oi Convocation... V; :. .
'As - a teacher, of wide experience, as a member arid for some.' years .chairman of the Auckland Education Board, as a member of the Masscy Agricultural Collego Council, as a member .and later as president of the Auckland University College Council, said the . executive's resolution, Mr.. Wells had placed at the service of the Senate an expert knowledge and balanced judgment iii matters of educational policy and administration. He had always been most ready to.devote his time to the work of the sub-committees of the Senate, and to j all duties which could further the effec-j tive working of the New Zealand 1 University. .
