More than 45 actors were tested for the part without success, and an S.O.S. was sent to Fox's London office to see if there was anyone suitable in England. Apparently London reported back in the negative, for Fox's next move was to make an application to borrow Tracey from Metro. Tyrone Power is Livingstone. + + + + gOMETHING of a mystery has blown up about the forthcoming new series of "Charlie Chan" pictures.- Following the news that Sidney Toler, ex-screen gangster, had picked up Warner 01 a lid's job, it was assumed in all quarters that Keye Luke would continue to play Charlie Chan's "No 1 son." It .was even thought at one time that Luke might play Charlie Chan himself. Now has come the surprising news that Sen Yew Cheung, 23-vear-old San Franciscoborn Chinese, is to take the part of Charlie's i«m, and no explanation is forthcoming.
