ON 'CHANGE.
P/iARKETS FIRM. • MOUNT MORGANS RISE. N.Z. BREWERIES DOTPX SLIGHTLY. All sections were quiet but firm on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, Government stocks and metal shares attracting most interest. Among Australian metal producers Mount Morgans rose sharply to the highest level for some time, having a sale and later buyers at 11/. Electrolytic Zincs had better buyers at £2 6/3 for the ordinary and £2 9/ for the preference shares. Mount Lyells and most other trans-Tas-man industrials were firm. In the Government section 3% per cent long-dated stocks sold at a rise of 10/ and other issues had a strong inquiry with few sellers in sight. Banks and insurances were generally steady, the only marked change being in E., S. and A. Banks, for which buyers ' advanced 4/ to £5 4/ and sellers were steady 3/6 higher. The easing tendency in Auckland Gas shares was checked and quotations were raised on both sides to buyers 18/3 and sellers 19/. X.Z. Breweries, however, sold at a drop of 9d. SALES COMPLETED.
