Premier's Resignation The Sequel ? TURKISH ALLEGATION. (Received 10.30 a.m.) ■ ANKARA, January 27. The resignation of Felal Bayar, the Prime Minister, is alleged to be due to the aeroplane scandal, and also to the People's party's allegations that an influential firm at Istanbul is receiving commissions on the pretence Of ensuring preference for British tenders under Britain's £10,000,000 credit granted in 1938. ' At the end of October it was revealed that 40 bombing 'planes authorised by the Canadian Customs for export to Turkey were really sent to Barcelona by means of forged documents. Government officials stated that there was no evidence that the Canadian exporters had acted other than The 'planes were built in the United States and assembled in Canada. It was reported that the Turkish Government had disavowed all knowledge of the shipment of aeroplanes. STRUCK CHIMNEY. Air Liner Crashes Near Cologne. SIX PEOPLE KILLED. (Received 9.80 un.) LONDON, January 27. An Air France liner on its way to Berlin from Paris struck a factory chimney at Tour be, near Cologne, says a message from Berlin. Four of the crew and two passengers were killed.
