"Bussy"
As His name implies, "Bussy** was our bus driver. His popularity was qufte tremendous, and early in the tour he became the children's friend and confidant. "Bussy" was our driver last year also, and when it came time to arrange the organisation of our 1939 holiday Wendy and I decided that at all costs we must have "Bussy" back again. u-i j *he cmme ' * nd 'he backbloclcs children quickly decided that he was certainly the nicest "Bussy" they had ever met. "Bussy" had his admirers, and foremost among them was eleven-year-old | John. John was allowed certain thrill,ng privileges not accorded to the others. One of these was a seat of honour right up at the front of the bus next to the driver. His right to this coveted seat was never questioned by the others. It was John's seat, and that was the end of it. At the Christmas tree the children S av e "Bussy" a little gift so that he would not forget them, but we imagine will not need this to remind kirn of his thirty-six young friends in the Far backblocks.
