SUMMER FASHIONS.

AT ELLERSLIE RACES.

An overcast sky and a cool breeze were the weather conditions for the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie to-day. The warm morning brought out an array of summery clothes with navy and white, and black and. white predominating in the dressing. Tan, too, had many adherents, and looked particularly nice when Combined with white or green. Many hats were turned off the faee, which is a fashion which suits practically everyone. The preference waa for the wide-brimmed variety of hat. Noticeable were the accessories, which were in contrasting colours to the many smart ensembles. Another noticeable feature was the open sandals worn by some of the patrons, their sun-tanned feet having bright red manicured toenails.
