ANNUAL MEETING HEIJ>. . The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers was iheld last evening at the School of Engineering at the Auckland University College. The executive elected ■for the coming year is as follows:—Chairman, Mr. A. J. Dixon; :hon secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. T. Murray; city .members, Messrs. A. O. Glass, W. S. Home, N. L. Viekerman; country members, Messrs. C. W. Firth (Pukekohe), R. H. Packwood (Whangarei): R. Worley (Hamilton), ihon. auditor, Mr. F. E. Powell. A ipaiper entitled "The Location of the Makaroa-Haast Pass Highway," by Mr. E. M. Patterson, of the Public Works Department in Otapro, was Tead, being illustrated by aerial and other photographs.
