THREE DOUBLES.

PAPAKIiRA SPORTS. RICE, YOUNG, R. LANDMAN. RAILWAY CHAMPION IN FORM Last evening on Prince Edward Park, Papakura, the local Amateur Athletic Club held its weekly meeting, the attendance being above the average. The track was on the heavy side, and times, as a consequence, were generally slower. G. Rice pulled off both the events for boys 14 to 16 years of age after conceding 8% yards in the 100 yards, and 19 yards iin the 220 yards.

G. Young put up a good performance in the junior sprints, taking both honours. Miss Ruth Landman showed some of her old form by annexing the women's races, and Miss Joan Bilkey jumped well to win the broad jump.

During the evening the president, Mr. Frank Osborne presented the field events points cup to M. Middleton, also the prizes won at the recent open meeting. Mr. Osborne took the opportunity of congratulating W. Cunningham, a club member, on winning the Railway Championship at Ngaruawahia last Sunday. This is the second year in succession that Cunningham has won this event. The two-mile cycle handicap brought out a good field, and a good finish was fought between L. Pinfold and E. Brown, the former winning by inches. Results:— 100 Yards.—G. Kerr (15yds). 1; D. Bilkey (14yds), 2; W. Smith (16yds), 3. Time, lOs. 220 Yards. —w. Cunningham (9yds), 1; D. Bilkey (25yds), 2; G.
