Seatinj accommodation was taxed to its utmost capacity in the Arts Hall last evening, when the Lancashire Society hel/l its fortnightly social.
The guests were received by the hostess. Miss Brassiiifrton. Miss Jenkins give vocal items, which were greatly enjoyed. Luckv number winners were Mrs. ,T. Gates. Miss .T. .Tones. Mr. Bennett and Mr. fuitninnhani. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Cole and Mr. Wntson. and the comnctition was won by Mrs. J. Gates and Miss Cook.
Prizes were donated by Mr. Horrocks and Mr. .Jenkins. During the evening the president. Mr. Smith, spoke of the annual picnic which is shortly to be held.
